June 2010
Joey Mahanes and FEI motorsports team arrived to test #45 The Miller Industries fletcherstowingva.com toyota camry at Orange county speedway on the friday before the race. After a strong test and race from the previous weekend they had high hopes going into the 100 lap event on saturday night. Friday for the team went great."we
came with a little diffrent deal and new motor this week and after finding a few bugs we decided it was good to call it a day after a great qualifing run to end the test day" said Joey Mahanes. Saturday turned out to be a great day for racing. 19 cars showed up to try and claim the trophy as Terry Dease, Craig Moore, and the fei driver Joey Mahanes headed into the race only 2points seperating the top 3.A suprise apperance by 2009 former ocs track champion David Tripplett jr. was also in the mix. Qualifying brought good news as Joey laid down a 14:34 around the 3/8ths mile to set on the pole collecting the 2 points to make the points chase a 3 way tie before the race was to start.Unfortuantly the #45 had to start 6th after the redraw due to a rule saying if you win two consecuitive races the best you can start is 6th no matter if you set the fast time. This is an ongoing rule that will be into effect until that driver is to loose. when the green flag dropped Mahanes quickly but safley started to cut threw traffic. By lap 20 he had made it to 2nd only to begin digging at Craig Moores lead of a straight away. in 12 laps Joey narrowed the #1s lead to 1 car and made him have a mirror full of the Miller Industries toyota. A competion caution flew to bunch up the field and Joey said "guys there is transmisson fluid leaking out of the shifter".which would later
explain why mahanes was getting loose as the transmison seal was leaking and was misting out onto the right rear tire. Threw it all Joey kept his cool regained his confidence and quickly made a move on the restart to make a 7 lap battle for the lead. After Mahanes cleared him he held off the pack for the final 23 laps and cruised to victory to win 3 in a row. "it was a great night and i couldnt do this without my sponsors and Paul Fletcher backing me up, the #45 Miller industries fletchers towing va.com camry was awesome despite the oil on the tires. Id like to thank fivestar bodies, joe gibbs driven oil,Miller industries, fletchers towing, and auto equipment for their continued support".said mahanes. The next race will be june 19th at orange county speedway again for 100 laps. come out and support Joey Mahanes and the entire Fei motorsports crew as they take on Craig moore, terry dease and the rest .

May 2010
On Joey's 9th and 10th late model start, he doubles up two wins at orange county motor speedway , America's fastest 3/8 mile track. 2010 seems to be a promising year as the previous years experience is paying off. Joey's is really starting to show the talent he has as he had a flat halfway into the race, kept his cool, worked himself back through the field to take the lead with two to go and win the first late model race of his career. In the second race, starting from 5th place worked himself through the field to lead the majority of the race and take home a second win of the night. Upon tech inspection we realized the right front shock had become detached from the lower control arm, Joey said, "yea I felt it wanting to move up the track a little", Team owner jokingly says, "well next time the car isnt handling like you want just let me know, I will remove the right front shock...."
